Our Company

Teknobyte limited is an East African-based technology company that develops and provides Engineering and ICT solutions in various sectors within the greater region. Having been founded in 1994, Teknobyte operated as a business until 2002, when we incorporated it as a limited liability company. It has an interdisciplinary team of professionals from Electrical Engineers, ICT Experts, Civil Engineers, Economists, Architects and Urban Planners. Teknobyte is registered as an Engineering Consulting Firm by the Engineers Board of Kenya

Mucemi Gakuru

Managing Director / CEO

Mucemi Gakuru is an entrepreneur, innovator and the company’s founder and CEO. He is a Registered Consulting Engineer with a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. He has wide-ranging experience in broad areas of Engineering, R&D and leadership of
engineering projects.
He has demonstrated accomplishments and inventions in transport and ICT and led the team that developed the first-ever Kiswahili Text to-Speech System in 2004

Tony White

ICT Director

Experienced Sysadmin and DevOps Programmer with a demonstrated history of working in the
telecommunications industry

Daniel Kariuki

Civil Engineer/ Projects Coordinator

Eng. Daniel Kariuki has numerous years of experience in design, construction supervision, and coordination of multifaceted and wide-ranging Civil Engineering projects. He is a valued resource in the broader areas of
railways, roads, structural engineering, transport, hydrology, hydraulics and other generalized Civil Engineering projects. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya and a
corporate member of IEK.

Grace Njoora

Consultant, Project Innovations

Grace Njoora is a Mechatronic Engineer with a lot of experience in mechanical design, automotive design, R&D, digital and traditional fabrication. She is registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya.

John B. Manyasi

Electrical / Telecomms Director

Eng John Buka Manyasi is a resource person and consultant in various Electrical and Telecomms disciplines. He has served in such capacities as a consultant for EPRA (Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority), Electrical industry committee member at Kenya Bureau of standards, and Co-coordinator of the Nairobi Urban Metropolitan Transport Study.

Robert Kanyua

Transport Economist

Robert is an experienced Transport Economist, a Leadership, Sustainability and Change Management expert.
Has undertaken notable projects in Rail
Infrastructure development.
He is a Thought leader and advisor to the private and public sectors and delivered Advisory support for development initiatives including undertaking feasibility studies and Economic evaluation of capital projects.

Cynthia Njambi

Software Engineer

Cynthia is a Software Engineer responsible for Web development and cloud computing in the Kenglex Project. Her work covers digital platforms' security and functionality. She is also in charge of preparing interns for work at Teknobyte, by helping them navigate the intricate aspects of software development and Natural Language Processes.
